2K Sports confirmed that NBA 2K21 already has the previous method of shooting to the basket thanks to a new update. The patch is now available worldwide for all PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players.
This patch has the main purpose of restoring the traditional mechanics of shooting with the right stick that had been used in the last installments of NBA 2K series, after having tried slight modifications that did not convince the fans.
In fact, the biggest difference between NBA 2K21 and its predecessor was this new method of shooting to the bucket with the right stick, which completely changed the shooting meter for a method that is more complicated and difficult to understand for players.
Choosing the right timing and angle to execute the shot effectively was a real torture even for the most experienced players in the franchise, so the request for the return of the old shooting mechanics was practically unanimous by the members of the large community of this title.
Thanks to this new update, all players can use Pro Stick aiming, as long as the shot indicator setting is disabled.
Before showing you the official statement from 2K Sports and Visual Concepts, we tell you that this new patch also corrects some technical errors that were affecting the game experience of users, although it is not specified in what situations they occurred.
To download the update you only have to connect your console to the internet and run the game; your console will automatically ask you to download the update and will proceed to restart the game once the process has finished to apply all the changes and allow you to choose between the new or old shooting method.
So, now you can buy NBA 2K21 MT Coins on MTStacks store and spend them on your favorite players and items and be sure that you can activate the old shooting method and enjoy this series as you always have and quickly forget those dark times where you couldn’t hit a triple even with Stephen Curry or Kevin Durant.
Now, let’s see a part of the official statement of the developers:
“The Visual Concepts team worked hard since launch, listened to community feedback, and tweaked features across all game modes. In this patch we include the adjustments that have been made to the targeting system with the Pro Stick, to improve its use and consistency. The first update is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The target time on the shot gauge is now determined by the speed to initially deflect the Pro Stick when starting a shot. A slow movement will move the ideal aiming position to the left; a quick one will move it to the right”.
NBA 2K21 is now available worldwide on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Google Stadia. The NBA 2K21 release date for next-gen consoles PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Will you use the old shooting method or continue using the new shot gauge?
